Founded in 1737, the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen is a research university of high internationalstanding. It is well-known, not only for its remarkably diverse range of subjects, but also for its research-led teaching and outstanding scientific environment in which more than 45 Nobel laureates have lived,studied, researched and taught.

The University has often been the starting point for significant journeys of discovery and collaboration. Lancaster has been the top university in the northwest of England for over a decade and this year rose three places to finish sixth place in the national league table, securing it a top 10 finish for the second consecutive year and its highest ever ranking.

The University of Rostock is the oldest universities in the Baltic Sea Region. It comprises of nine faculties. In addition, the interdisciplinary faculty as scientific key institution connects researchers and students from all disciplines in currently four profile lines: “Life, Light and Matters”, “Maritime Systems”, Ageing of Individual and Society” and “Knowledge - Culture - Transformation”.
